“I believe in art that inspires the spirit while engaging the mind.” Gail Sauter

The smallest moments in life are often those that connect us most deeply as human beings. They form a collective human experience and trigger our visual memories by reminding us of places we’ve been and people we’ve known. Details and features remain ambiguous, but the essence of the moment emerges with sudden clarity and brings the past to life again. I find magic in these fleeting moments, their transition from what we see into what we remember, and the way they linger to dwell within us.

My paintings are exhibited across the USA and in Canada, Great Britain, Italy, France, and Russia. I have been awarded the honorary distinctions of Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America, full Artist status by the Copley Society, Boston and I am listed in ‘Who’s Who in American Art’. I have held residencies at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the Vermont Studio Colony, I Park in Connecticut, the Atlin Center in British Columbia and Acadia National Park. My work has been published in ‘The Best of Pastel 2’ (Gail E Robinson) and ‘L’Art du Pastel’. I live in Kittery, Maine.
